And the Difference Between the Texas GOP and the Taliban Is… June 22, 2010

…pretty freakin’ negligible. Take a gander at their party platform.

Aside from bullshit nonsense about Affirmative Action (seriously? You idiots are STILL freaking out about redressing the nation’s historical problems with racism? Oh, of course you are), they have a real bee in their bonnet about homosexuals.

Fig. 1: Homosectionals make the Texas GOP sad.

Apparently, the Texas GOP wants to criminalize gay marriage:

Marriage Licenses – We support legislation that would make it a felony to issue a marriage license to a same-sex couple and for any civil official to perform a marriage ceremony for such.

A felony? A FELONY? Let’s take a look at some crimes that have been classified as felonies:
aggravated assault and/or battery
arson
burglary
illegal drug use/sales
grand theft
robbery
murder
rape
vandalism on federal property

See a common theme in these crimes that have been classified as felonies? With the exception of vandalism on federal property, the rest of these felonious crimes are pretty freakin’ serious. As in “putting people’s lives in danger” serious. Now, a logical person might ask, “Skippy, what would constitute a danger to anyone else if two guys or two women get married? Why make it a felony?” Well, the Texas GOP is glad you asked, dear reader. They want to help you understand why two women or two men getting married is so grave that it should be classified as a fucking felony:

“We believe that the practice of homosexuality tears at the fabric of society, contributes to the breakdown of the family unit, and leads to the spread of dangerous, communicable diseases.”
“Homosexual behavior is contrary to the fundamental, unchanging truths that have been ordained by God, recognized by our country’s founders, and shared by the majority of Texans.”
“Homosexuality must not be presented as an acceptable “alternative” lifestyle in our public education and policy, nor should “family” be redefined to include homosexual “couples.”

In other words: bigotry based on fear, ignorance and outright mean-spirited holier-than-thouness is great, so long as you mention the Christian “God.”

Fig. 2: Have these bigoted motherfuckers even read this thing?

Again, there’s really no point in taking these “points” on—-if, in 2010, I have to debunk the foolish fictions about homosexual “practice” (seriously, Texas bigots; homosexuality is no more a practice than is heterosexuality), disease and “lifestyle,” then it is abundantly clear that I am speaking to a fucking idiot. And I have no time or patience to try to speak rationally with a moron. Instead, I prefer to make fun of you and hurl invectives at you. Seriously; how fucking dumb do you have to be to sign on to such retarded notions? How much of a brain-dead, woo-addled knuckle-dragging troglodyte do you have to be to say that this is a good idea?

Oh, and the Texas GOP—-that bright bastion of common sense and reason—-also wants to ban strip clubs and pornography. These throwbacks also support teaching “intelligent design” alongside scientific theories of evolution and natural selection.

That pretty much tells me all I need to know about the Texas Republican Party.

It’s all part of the evil, EVIL plan to destroy your marriage.
